The Rock School staff reserve the rights and would not hesitate to deny or revoke access to anyone for any act deemed inappropriate or unsafe.

  • All climbers must complete The Rock School’s top-rope belay verification test before using the top-rope facilities. An Auto-Belay Orientation is also required prior to operating an auto belay device.
  • The minimum age for belaying is 13 years old. The Rock School staff reserve the right to request for any form of recognized certification if required.
  • When belaying, do not move beyond the safety zones demarcated in yellow on the floor. There is to be no sitting or lying down while belaying.

  • As much as possible, descend by down climbing to a point where you are comfortable jumping off the wall. Land with your whole feet shoulder-width apart and knees bent. TOP ROPE CLIMBING

  • Lane hogging is highly discouraged. The facility strongly advocates fair sharing. Do not occupy the lane for more than 3 climbs consecutively. Monopolizing a route / autobelay lane is an unpopular practice.
  • When necessary, our staff may intervene to safeguard everyone’s interests fairly.
  • Let climbers figure out their own moves as they climb a route. Provide guidance only when the climber asks for it.

BOULDERING

  • No footwear (except climbing shoes) on the bouldering mats.
  • Do not leave your personal belongings on the mats.
  • Give way to climbers who are already bouldering on the wall.
  • Do not boulder in areas being used by top rope climbers.
  • Try not to get on a problem right after someone brushes it. Let him/her attempt it first.
